James Tolan, Managing Partner
James Tolan is the Managing Partner of Transgistics, an executive search firm servicing clients in the Transportation & Logistics industry. Over the last 5 years of recruiting in the Transportation & Logistics field, Mr. Tolan has placed several Presidents, a multitude of Vice Presidents, and many Director level roles for his clients in the industry. With an extensive background in this area, Mr. Tolan leverages his contacts both domestically and internationally to find top talent for his clients. Prior to his affiliation with Transgistics, Mr. Tolan was Senior Vice President of Business Development and a Co-Founder of a cardiac medical device company based in Florida. His primary function in this role was funding the company through private and institutional investment. Mr. Tolan raised $8 million for the company from private investors and was able to raise an additional $12 million from institutional investors, both before and after the company’s FDA approval of their core cardiac device.
Mr. Tolan spent a large portion of his life living and working abroad. He was Director of Sales for Halifax Properties for Eastern Europe until 1994. Upon returning to the U.S., he became a licensed securities broker, managing in excess of $70 million in assets at International Assets Advisory Corp, First Union Securities and Park Financial Group. He held series 7, 65 and 63 NASD licenses. While working for a British company, he worked in such diverse locations as Poland, Russia, Lithuania, the UK, Bulgaria, Turkey and Lebanon. In all of these locations, Mr. Tolan was involved in Business Development as well as Sales & Marketing; not only as a member of management but as a trainer in each country.
Mr. Tolan started his career as a linguist and analyst for the United States Government and was posted to Japan and Spain. Having grown up abroad, in addition to English, Mr. Tolan has a working knowledge of Spanish, Russian, Turkish, and German. He attended the Defense Language Institute in Monterey, California as well as the University of Maryland.
Sher Yilmaz, Partner
With over twelve years of experience in commercial real estate, Ms. Yilmaz has been involved in many facets of this industry from underwriting, lending, appraising, leasing, acquisition, and disposition. Having gained a solid background in the financial fundamentals of the field as an underwriter at AmSouth Bank, she moved onto brokerage with Carter and Associates, where she continued to interface with lenders, attorneys and governmental entities. Over the years, she has developed great relationships with Trustco Bank, Branch Banking and Trust (BB&T), AmSouth Banks, First National Bank of Central Florida, and Colonial Bank. She channeled her knowledge of the industry and Rolodex of contacts into successful networking and recruitment of distinguished talent. Her thoroughness in her investigations and her knowledge of the market has put her clients at an advantage in competing for qualified candidates in the market place. Ms. Yilmaz earned an MBA from Crummer School of Business at Rollins College in Winter Park, Florida and a BA in Communications from Bosphorous University in Istanbul, Turkey.
Kathy Breitenbucher, Managing Partner The Pedestal Group
Kathy Breitenbucher is the Managing Partner of The Pedestal Group. Kathy provides training, conducts research, solves technical problems and provides administrative support for Transgistics.
Prior to The Pedestal Group, Kathy worked for SRA International, the franchisor of Sanford Rose Associates® and managed an IT department of 41 staff and student employees at the College of Wooster. She also was the Customer Service Manager at Definitive Homecare Solutions, a software developer catering to the home infusion/ home health market. Additionally, Kathy began her career working in the staffing industry and attended The College of Wooster.
